Draft. This post is an outline and is not finished.

How to check whether a tokenized stock is really backed

A practical procedure you can run yourself, without taking the issuer's word for anything.

issuer-riskhow-to

Outline. The reader-facing companion to the issuer analyses.

  • Step 1: find the actual mint address, not the one in a tweet
  • Step 2: check circulating supply on-chain
  • Step 3: find the attestation, and read what it does and does not assert
  • Step 4: check whether supply and attested shares reconcile, and on what lag
  • What "backed" still does not mean, even when everything above checks out
